The SCCL is the fruition of decades of investment in cancer research and clinical infrastructure in the region.
A declaration of intent to create the Swiss Cancer Center in Lausanne was signed in 2013 by the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). In 2016, the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE) joined the alliance that formally became the Swiss Cancer Center Léman.
The community includes clinicians and nurses, clinical investigators, basic and translational biomedical researchers, chemists, biomaterial engineers, cell engineers, imaging experts, geneticists, mathematicians and bioinformaticians.
All of these experts are unitedly passionate about confronting today’s urgent cancer problems in order to develop exceptional care and innovative solutions for patients.
