The SCCL represents five leading academic institutions and university hospitals of western Switzerland, united in their fight against cancer.
Today, cancer research presents challenges of such complexity that no single institution can expect to bring about breakthrough innovation on its own. The SCCL initiative, the first of its kind in Switzerland, stands out by integrating substantive fundamental, clinical and translational research across its member institutions and partners.
Our member institutions
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) are the SCCL’s founding members.
Through the collaborative network created between scientists, bioengineers and clinicians, each institution contributes a depth of expertise in their respective domain and fields which, collectively, make up a singular cancer community.
Every alliance lives by the synergies that it creates, both within and beyond its membership. The SCCL collaborates with many prominent actors in the field of cancer research and care, both locally and internationally.
